The ABCs for Communicating with Boomers and Generations X, Y, and Z!

    Track: Human Resources

    Session Number: 3107
    Date: Tue, Oct 25th, 2022
    Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

    Description:

We can connect with diverse cultures and generations to create more cohesive and productive teams, improve guest communications, and coordinate expectations with our clients and contractors. But we need to understand cultural and generational differences. We'll identify typical breakdowns in communication, research the quirky and distinctive characteristics of generations, identify some cultural communication taboos, explore strategies to buffer, translate, and cut through interference, and review how to understand what people may want and how to motivate them to act. Speaking a person's generational or cultural language can reduce frustration and improve outcomes (and it can be fun).
